HELLO!

I'm Kat, and I'm a freelance illustrator, designer and linocut printmaker from the North East of Scotland, now living and working in South East London. I grew up shuttling between the city and the countryside, surrounded by Pictish standing stones and tales of giants who slept inside mountains. I'm endlessly inspired by folklore, fairytales, historical oddities and natural wonders - all things fascinating and fantastical, with a rich narrative seam.

My main loves are linocut print, pen and ink and hand-painted decorative ceramics but I've also been known to build puppets, cut intricate paper designs, dabble in origami and sculpt 3D models in clay (two of which have turned into full-size totem poles in London's Hyde Park...). I especially like puzzles and fiddly, hidden details - the stories within the stories. I hope you do too.
